CGH Transportation is a transportation planning and traffic engineering firm specializing in transportation impact assessments and site design. Our team undertakes a variety of assignments, from the smallest site design, up to large-scale community building. As transportation planning evolves our methods and focus have followed, looking to the future with multi-modal traffic assessments, park and trails planning, and urban community building.

We offer our team full-time work from home in order to allow for flexibility and to achieve a balance between work and life. This allows for flexibility both in work hours and working location. Our staff are currently located across eastern and southern Ontario.

Senior Engineer/Project Manager

CGH is a boutique firm specializing in private sector transportation development approvals in Ontario with two base office locations – Ottawa and Toronto. CGH provides outstanding consulting services to their clients and strives to deliver on time and on budget. Clients trust and depend on CGH’s extensive knowledge of town/city guidelines, relationships with review agencies, and their cohesive and complete transportation solutions.

Job Description

In this role you will independently deliver transportation impact studies/assessments, parking justification reports, functional design studies, and site design reviews. You will work closely with junior staff, including mentoring staff, reviewing work, and assisting staffing decisions. It is expected that you will require little to no technical oversight. As you grow in this role, we will assist you in refining your project management skills and provide opportunities to assist with business development and operations. A high degree of skill with Trafficware Synchro/Simtraffic, Transoft Autoturn, and Microsoft Office 365 is required to succeed in this role. Further, knowledge of Municipal, Provincial, and National transportation standards is required. The ideal candidate will also have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications

Past experiences should include:
  • 10+ years experience with a transportation planning and traffic engineering consulting firm or municipal/provincial government engineering agency,
  • P. Eng., licensed in the Province of Ontario,
  • G Driver’s license and access to a vehicle

This allows new employees to grow their skillset quickly and advance within the company. Though on the job training will be a key part of success within CGH, knowledge of Trafficware Synchro, Transoft Autoturn, and Microsoft Office 365 would be beneficial to quickly jumpstart your career at CGH. The ideal candidate will also have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications

Past experiences should include:
  • Civil engineering co-op,
  • 0-4 years experience with a civil engineering consulting firm or municipal/provincial government engineering agency, or
  • Recent graduate of an eligible engineering program.
